Man suffers extensive injuries when pinned between vehicles

Car accidents in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas can happen for any number of reasons from negligence to distraction to driving under the influence. Some accidents are just a matter of circumstance and people who are not connected to it in any way and are simply going about their business can find themselves injured in a car accident. If the person survives, the immediate concern is getting well. After that, there can be numerous issues that can arise. A legal filing is often necessary to recover compensation for all that was lost.

A motor vehicle accident in a parking lot sent a pedestrian to the hospital. The accident happened at around 12:30 p.m. According to the investigation, a vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a food establishment and hit another vehicle. There was a chain reaction and the second vehicle hit a truck. The injured pedestrian was stuck between two of the vehicles. Emergency responders arrived to help and it took approximately 20 minutes to free him and take him to the hospital. The man, in his 70s, is said to have several injuries that could be serious. Two others were removed from vehicles in the crash and suffered minor injuries.

Pedestrians are notoriously vulnerable to debilitating injuries and death when they are hit by a vehicle. If they are pinned between two vehicles, it can cause damage from which it can take a long time to recover. For an elderly person, such a recovery can be difficult, if not impossible. Medical bills, lost quality of life, lost wages and other issues can come to the forefront after this type of accident. Insurance companies are unlikely to provide the necessary compensation to cover all that was lost. A legal filing is frequently the only strategy to be adequately compensated.

In a chain reaction crash where a pedestrian was hurt, the investigation into how and why the accident happened can be essential to a legal case. The man who was pinned and his family should make certain they are protected by contacting an experienced attorney to examine the facts of the case, accrue evidence and move forward with a legal filing.
