Rear-end bus accidents sends ballet students to hospital

School buses are a common sight in Pittsburgh no matter the time of year. During school, these buses transport kids back and forth to school and to other locations. In the summer, there are children traveling to activities as a group, sports teams are going to games, and clubs and classes are commonplace. Given the number of these vehicles on the road, accidents are all-but inevitable. In these accidents, children and others on the bus can suffer debilitating injuries that cause them problems in the short and long-term. It can even lead to a loss of life. After such an accident, understanding what the future holds can be difficult and it is wise to discuss the matter with a legal professional.

Study: Distracted driving a problem with parents of young kids

While distracted driving is known to be a danger in Pennsylvania and across the U.S., research strives to delve deeper into the issue to gather information as to who does it, when and why. This has revealed that people who should be the most cautious are taking part in this dangerous activity and put others at risk of debilitating injuries and wrongful death.

Chapter 11 for Pittsburgh YMCA moves forward with three closings

Businesses in Pittsburgh that are experiencing financial struggles might think that closing the business and moving on is the only alternative they have. They might be moderately aware of the possibility that Chapter 11 bankruptcy might help them, but, for whatever reason, are reluctant to consider the process. For many, this might be a mistake. Debt restructuring, debt reorganization and the managing of business debt are just some of the potential benefits of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. If there is still a fear of this process, considering examples of other businesses that have used it could help assuage that worry.

New research indicates distracted driving goes beyond phone use

One of the most common causes of a car accident in Pennsylvania and across the nation is a distracted driver. While this is commonly perceived as having to do with a driver manipulating a smartphone while behind the wheel, there are other ways in which a driver can become distracted. Despite nearly all 50 states putting some form of legislation into effect to curb distracted driving, people still do it. Because there are around 3,500 fatalities and 390,000 injuries due to distracted drivers, the problem is massive. A study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety seeks to understand this phenomenon and reduce its frequency.
