Motor vehicle accident injuries more frequent at certain times

Many factors go into a Pennsylvania car accident and all should be considered when assessing the cause and thinking about a legal filing. Some are more obvious than others. Reckless driving, driving under the influence, distracted driving and other common reasons are often why there is a crash. Research can be useful when driving to be prepared for potential risks. This is also important after an accident has happened. One issue that should be assessed is the time of the day in which it is the most dangerous to be on the road.

Information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration calculated the time of year, days of the week and time of day when accidents were more common in the state. The research shows that the two most dangerous months for fatal accidents are May and June. This is believed to be due to the increased presence on the road of teens and people who are vacationing. The next most dangerous time of year is in September and October.

Days of the week are also important to think about. The highest number of deadly crashes happen on Friday and Saturday. The safest day is Wednesday. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. is the time at which the most fatalities occur. The combination of more drivers and the frequency with which drivers are speeding, rapidly changing lanes and driving while distracted makes it more important to be vigilant. Safety-wise, the hours between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. have the fewest deadly crashes.

Those who are in motor vehicle accidents are prone to downplaying ancillary issues such as when it happened, but this can be a key factor when the investigation is done to determine the cause. The cause can be critical issue when considering a legal filing. Lost wages, medical expenses, long-term damage and death can come about after an auto accident. A law firm that has extensive experienced in helping those who have suffered motor vehicle accident injuries can assist with a claim.
