Head-on car-motorcycle crash causes debilitating injuries, death

Motor vehicle accidents in Pittsburgh can happen with any kind of vehicle. Oftentimes, the smaller and more maneuverable the vehicle is, the more prone the driver and its passengers are to debilitating injuries and death. When the accident involves a motorcycle and a conventional vehicle, the rider will be exceedingly vulnerable to the worst kinds of injuries and fatalities. It is vital that drivers pay close attention to motorcycles when they are sharing the road with them. If there is an accident, a motorcyclist who is injured and the family left behind after a fatality must be aware of the requirements to file a lawsuit for compensation.

According to a recent report, a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle led to the death of the motorcycle driver and injuries to the passenger. The accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. According to law enforcement, the man who was driving the motorcycle, 59, was going straight on the road with a female passenger. The car is said to have gone over the center line and hit the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was declared dead at the site of the crash. His passenger was taken to the hospital via air. Her condition is not known. The driver injured a shoulder and was taken to the hospital to be treated and to have blood drawn to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved.

When there is an accident with a fatality, the family left behind will want to know how and why it happened. This is especially true when a vehicle crossed the center line and there was a head-on crash. People who have lost a loved one in an accident should be aware of the short and long-term issues they will face because of it. Funeral costs, lost contributions, lost wages and other factors will come to the forefront. The investigation can be the key to the case and a successful legal filing. Medical expenses can be astronomical and a person's entire life can be upended due the negligence of another.

As the investigation into this recent incident continues, the family of the man who died and the injured person may need to prepare to file a claim to be compensated due to the motor vehicle accident injuries.
